Golfing on Bridgewater Links, Lake Havasu

Went golfing today at the Bridgewater Links 9 hole golf course right by the London Bridge. We played it twice to make 18 holes. The course was nice, the weather is very windy today at 25-40 mph winds with gusts.
California mountains on the other side.

Nice golf course view.

This picture is for Ray. The tree is right in front of the green.
We used our tree wood to get to the green. Ha Ha.

Topock Gorge and Copper Canyon Boat Tour

Today we went on a 4 hour boat trip up the Colorado River from Lake Havasu. It was like a mini trip to the Grand Canyon. California side was on the left (mostly Indian Reservation land), and Arizona side was on the right. Today was hot at 99-104 degrees, so spending the noon hours on the boat was terrific. They even served us a lunch with the boat on one of the beaches. The ducks and birds came around to see if we were serving leftovers, which of course we did. Really beautiful lake. The name Havasu means blue looking down, green looking out, or blue green=havasu. We saw some wild donkeys on the California side. This area is known for copper and gold mining. This area is a play land for boaters. The boats we saw were easy $60,000.00.

Island Golf Lake Havasu

Got up and went golfing on the Island in Lake Havasu. The golf course was rough and mostly dirt and gravel. We were not too pleased with it. The view of the lake and mountains was spectacular though. They have a lot of quail and doves here. They only have tee times till noon here. Once May is finished, it is so hot here that activities and tours come to a halt. It seems like this is a winter haven for people. Today was 93 degrees. Tomorrow will be 100 degrees. We are signed for a 4 hour water cruise tomorrow. All in all a beautiful place in the valley of mountains.
Palm Trees and mountains.

Gravel, sand and some greens.

Desert, lake and mountains in a beautiful valley.

Lake Havasu, AZ

We changed our itinerary this morning. Tired of driving and no fun. We enjoyed visiting family, but the trip to Alaska became daunting after issues and lots and lots of driving. Decided to drive north on Highway 95 and turn right instead of left. We entered and exited California. (Oops I bit off more than I want to chew. Heading home slowly to enjoy the sites along the way. The blog is now misnamed.) We turned right and went to Lake Havasu City off of I-40. Nice place. Rains making it cooler here today. Went downtown and visited the London Bridge built in London and completed in 1831, disassembled and brought here in 1971. I remembered seeing this bridge on 60 minutes. Plan to stay here a few days and play, then move on to Flagstaff area and see what fun we can have there.

Arizona Oasis RV Resort in Blythe

Drove around 225 miles today to Blythe, Arizona. Found a nice RV resort on the Colorado River. I was afraid we might have bad winds due to the forecast, but winds were minimal and the trip was good. I did have trouble making the turn getting out of our Tucson RV Resort, so Elwin had to unhook and re-hook the car up, due to my over correction on the turn. Nothing lost, just another "learning experience."
(Pictures to follow-internet poor here.)
